the Studio’s April Color Challenge

I can’t believe where April has gone. It has been a hectic and a bit rough month for us as hubby took on a new work. Looking forward to a smooth sailing month of May.

I have been meaning to make a kit for the April Color Challenge hosted by Diane over at the Studio ever since I saw the beautiful color palette she used. However, free “me” time was really scarce. Luckily, today is a holiday in my part of the world so hubby and son slept longer than usual, which meant a free time for me. Woohoo!

Here’s a little kit that I managed to whip up together:cwJOY-Spring-prev

I hope you like it. You can download it here.

I really like the color palette that I am thinking of expanding it into a full kit. I do hope I find the time though.

PS April Blog Train

Can you believe that it is already April? First Quarter of the year is already over!

PixelScrapper is hosting another blog train this month with “Raindrops and Rainbows” as a theme. The color palette has a wide variety of dark and light colors. The designers and members made this train loaded with a lot of gorgeous kits.

I made a painted style papers for my part. Here’s a preview:

I am thinking of adding some elements to it but that may have to wait. You can download my part here. Don’t forget to drop by the forum and grab the rest of the goodies there.

theStudio’s March Color Challenge

Hi everyone. I had time this week to join the Color Challenge at Digital Scrapbooking Studio. I love the color palette that Diane put together and it inspired me to make a full kit too. Hurray! I am thinking of adding some more patterned papers to go with it.

Here’s a preview of the Mini Kit I made for the challenge:

I hope you like it. If you make a layout using my kit, I would love to see them. You can link me up so I can leave you some love. You can download mini kit here.

Here’s a preview of full kit:

It has 10 papers (5 artsy and 5 patterned) and 18 elements. Papers and elements can be purchased separately at my CraftsUPrint store here.

2017 PS March Blog Train

Hi everyone! First quarter of the year is almost over. How is it going so far?

Today, I have a freebie for you as part of the Pixel Scrapper’s monthly blog train. This month, the theme is “In the Pocket” which focuses on scrappers who love to do pocket scrapping or Project Life but is still versatile enough to be used as a regular digital scrapbooking lay out.

I decided to make a painted wood grain paper as a contribution. I hope you like it. Here is the preview:

You can download the paper pack here.

Don’t forget to drop by the forum and grab all the gorgeous contributions from the designers and members.

2017 PS January Blog Train

Hi everyone! January is almost over. Time flies so fast! Somehow, I managed to squeeze in a mini kit for Pixel Scrapper’s blog train. Whew! I think I stopped at April last year. I am hoping I can participate all months this year

Here’s a preview of what I made:

I can’t seem to make a kit with a mix of colors to work so I only used the brown shades of the palette. It is a bit monochromatic but I hope you can combine it with the rest of the kits being offered in the train to create fabulous lay outs. Visit the forum to see the rest of the designers’ and members’ contribution.

Day 06: Craving for Cinnamon

Remember we had a gathering where we went home with a box of cinnamon? Well, me and hubby are craving to eat some now but our friend can’t bake one at the moment. So, what do we have to do? Go to the city and search for a store that sells them, of course ๐Ÿ˜‚

We found one bakeshop that sells them that looked almost the same so we bought not one but six. Six cinnamon rolls! It was not as tasty as the home baked one but this will have to do. Craving filled!

We will have to wait for the next gathering to eat those home baked ones. It better be soon. Haha.

Day 05: We got them back!

If you have been following me, you would know that my son went home yesterday with a wrong pair of shoes ๐Ÿ˜ Today, my son was wearing flip flops to school while I carried the shoes inside a bag. I was afraid the kid (or the parent) might get angry if the shoes got dirty.

Well, guess what? The kid was waiting for us outside the classroom with his hands on his waist and shouted “He took my shoes!” I found it difficult to supress my laughter because he looked so cute. Haha. His grandmother was laughing, telling me that she only noticed the wrong shoes when they got home since his grandson was wearing a different pair of socks. You see, both shoes were exactly alike (except for the size). They were both new, as white as the white can be. So, it would be easy to mistake one from the other. The only difference was in the socks that the shoes were paired with. My son was wearing an ankle-length one while the other kid was wearing a knee-high one.

Today, I found out the reason why. The kid has a birthmark on his leg, a handbreadth size; that is why he is always wearing high socks – to cover the marks.

Day 04: Another First

Today is our son’s first day of school in Kindergarten!

We have been prepping him for over a week that he is going to school and meet his teachers and classmates and have fun. I did not want him to feel scared just like what happened when it was his first day in Nursery (but that is another story for another day ๐Ÿ˜Š).

He woke up in a good mood. He ate breakfast and changed to his school uniform with no fuss. He was even singing while walking on the way to school. When we got there, he saw two of his friends and got excited. He went inside their classroom with ease after a hug, a kiss, and a wave.

He was all smiles and said he enjoyed school when I picked him up after four hours. YAY!ย I noticed something odd on him though. He was wearing someone elses’s shoes! ๐Ÿ˜… I will have to check back tomorrow and see who the poor kid was who got my son’s shoes. It would have surely hurt his feet as it was an inch shorter. Haha.

Day 03: The Day I Cried

My tears are shallow. I cry when I watch a movie. I cry when I watch a touching advertisement. I cry when I read something heartwarming. But this afternoon, I cried for one very shallow reason: my son’s toy (Avalanche from Disney’s Planes: Fire and Rescue) fell on my head while I was lying on the bed. He was playing with it on the headboard, lost his grip and his toy rolled down the curve and hit my head with a thud. Did it hurt? Yes. Was I in pain? Yes. But not that much to cause an overly reactive tearglands. I was crying my heart; my husband thought I was badly hurt.

I don’t know why I cried that much but let me tell you, it felt great afterwards. It’s like I have been wanting to cry for a long time and now that I have let it out, I felt lighter. Have you ever had that feeling? That you want to cry but you don’t know why? That is how I felt. So I just lay there, curled up on the bed with my hand covering my head, crying until my tears ran dry.

My son hugged me, said sorry, kissed me on the cheek and went to sleep. What a way to end the day!

Day 02: Good Friends, Good Food

We had a lunch date with my TeamGfx, a group who maintains the media page for our church. We have been maintaining it for over a year and we wanted to celebrate the post new year together as a family since we only see each other every Sunday and just communicate through computer screens on regular days.

Food was great. We all bought something home made to share. I especially loved the dessert – cinnamon rolls! Yum! It was the perfect combination to my cup of coffee. Honestly, I could have eaten the whole batch if I didn’t think about the calories that I would pack up afterwards. Haha. The host’s wife has perfected her recipe.

The kids had fun with all the available toys that the host prepared – they have two boys so just think of cars, planes, everything that has wheels on them, lego blocks, and the not-so-typical toys (solar system projector which my son loved the most and a human body model).ย The dads were cozied up on the sofa watching The Accountant on TV while the moms were busy chatting, reminiscing moments in our lives fro ย way back eight years ago. That is how chatty we were.

We all went home with a box of cinnamon rolls as a bonus!
